[Receipts]. 1868.

Contains two receipts for certain sums of money releasing and discharging the persons named from claims on the use of Woodman's patent on an apparatus for stripping the top flats of carding engines. One receipt, April 14, 1868, is to J.C. Whitin, for the Albion Co., Albion, N.J.; the other, April 28, 1868, is to Benedict Lapham, Franklin Foundry, for use at Centervill [sic], R.I. Collection also includes a quarterly return of self-top card strippers, built under the Wellman and Woodman patents, for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 1873, by Whitin Machine Co., indicating to whom delivered, the number of cards, where delivered and the amount paid.
